A

Oh man, oh man! I am so excited to meet my little girl! The two most amazing moments are going to be seeing Matthew holding her for the very first time and taking Lexi to church for the first time. Seeing Matthew hold our little girl is going to be beyond amazing. I chose Matthew to be her daddy because of who he is as a christian man and he is going to make such a wonderful father! For many years he has been challenging himself to become a father that God calls him to be. He has by far exceeded what God has called him to be as a husband and I know this will be true as a father as well.

At my bible study yesterday I was asking for prayers because I now need to see another specialist (I think #6 or 7 so far during this pregnancy). One of the ladies came up to me and commented on how I seem to be just taking things in stride. This is all due to the grace of God and influence of my husband. Several years ago I would have been a crying nervous mess. Matthew has ministered to me though his complete trust and faith in God's plans. This has become the attitude in our home because of who Matthew is and that is so wonderful for our baby girl! Hopefully my history of worry and anxiety will not be passed onto baby Lexi! That has been one of my goals during pregnancy, not to pass along stress hormones. God has been so faithful in that only a few moments of anxiety of occurred.

Praise God and Praise God for Matthew! Oh man, oh man! She is coming!!!

Delivery

So I have been reflecting on Labor and Delivery. Yes, millions of women have done it, yes millions of women have done it well. However, that is less and less of a comfort as I come near the time that I have to deliver. I know that many families would give anything to be able to experience this, but I am getting scared. Lexi is already above average for weight and that freaks me out a little more. She has to come out!!!! I don't know who even reads this blog, but I don't want to freak you out. I am just having a few moments of nervousness about bringing this little girl into the world.

I have several friends who are all natural! I don't think that is me. I ran the idea by Matthew and he actually laughed at the thought of me trying all natural. Not that he wouldn't support me %100, but the reality is I am wimpy and DON'T like pain. People say you can't remember pain...that is hogwash. I can remember pain! If the car gets scratched, I say "ouch" because to me I feel pain. I can remember all the times I have been in major pain (spinal tap was the worse) and it hurt!!!!!! So I am praying that I will be able to have an epidural.

I also have a friend (Whitney) who is amazingly strong. She watched her daughter in a mirror coming out. She talks about labor so calmly like it was no big deal. She said, yes it did hurt, "but you forget it." So many people say you forget the pain when you see the baby. If you forget the pain why do I hear so many stories about the pain?? I was the at the hospital several hours after my sister was born and my parents were pale and overwhelmed by their awful birthing experience. I clearly remember how awful it was! But too late now, I am knocked up and she has to come out. I really am so thrilled to meet my daughter who has been growing all this time. I know delivery will happen, I am just having a scared moment.

32 weeks and counting

We are just at 8ish weeks away from D-day. We got to have a sonogram yesterday and she is still a she! Lexi is weighing approximately 5lbs and 2oz. Since I only weighed 7lbs and something oz, I had not expected such a big baby. With Matthew's genetic contribution, she is going to probably be over 9 lbs when she arrives. Yikes...that has got to come out! Hopefully lots of prayer and medication will make this not so painful! Here are her most recent pics.

The nursery is almost complete and will soon have pics up of that. I am not sure where my camera is after the move.
Enjoy and lots of love.

Furniture

I am so excited about the new furniture we just ordered. Does that make us grown ups now? We will have our own furniture that was not previously owned by someone else! We won't even need slip covers...I like this grown up thing. So now I get to set up a new living room and a new nursery at our new house. There is something so fun about new things, I am just so thrilled. Especially since we looked for furniture for 2 years!!! We were looking and looking and couldn't find a thing. We had finally found what we wanted about 4 months ago. But we decided to wait until we knew where we were going to be living. After we found out our new duty station, we went back to order the furniture. The store was going out of business and they no longer had the furniture. So back to square one. Last night we just decided to stop in at a Bassett Furniture and they had exactly what we wanted. So we ordered and in 4 weeks we will have a new living room. What has my life come to that I now get excited about furniture?

Since Lexi is not here yet to take adorable pictures of, you get to see the pics of our new furniture ;).

New Start

So in just 6 more days we get to move into our new place. We are excited to move into our new townhouse in south Jersey. We get to still live close to Matthew's family and will get to see them frequently. We are also excited about moving into the house where we will be living when Lexi is born!!! I can't hardly wait until i get to set up her room with all of her so cute little girl things. We are excited about living in a 3-bedroom place to have space as we grow our little family. Though moving at 6 months pregnant is not ideal, it is fun to have a new start in a new place.

Pregnant and Sick

We had a great adventure this week. Thursday night/Friday morning at 12:30 am I began throwing up. After throwing up a couple of more times I called my DR. and she sent me to the ER. With a total of about 20 throw ups later, I was admitted into the Labor/Delivery unit. I got my own very private, very expensive tour of the unit! During all this I began getting sick from the other end as well. Apperantly dehydration can bring on contractions which is what happened. I only had a few contractions, they stopped quickly after the nurse got the IV's going. We are now at home and feeling better. I knew this would pass for me, probably a virus, but I was concerned for Lexi. She has not baked nearly long enough!!! I was released from the hospital on Friday afternoon and am now just taking it easy. Praise to God that Lexi is safe and still in the uterous!!!!!

Pregnant Holidays

So do you ever have a day where you can't seem to keep your thoughts in your head? That what you think comes out of your mouth before you can think to stop the mouth!? That is the permanent condition of pregnancy. I can't seem to keep my mouth shut! Now normally, I say a few loud-mouthed things, but lately, I say whatever is on my mind. I do not want to hurt anyone around me, so my latest strategy is to sit in the corner and stay quiet! I love people around me, but I don't want to drive them crazy!!! Gotta love hormones.

Today is the Day

After 7 weeks and 2 days of Matthew being away at school, HE COMES HOME TODAY!!!!! He will get to see the big belly his daughter is growing in. He will get to sleep in his own bed. He will get to eat his favorite foods (stocked up at the store for him). The best part is, we get to see each other again! OOOOOH man, oh man. For this exciting event, I will even shave my legs!!!! He also gets to see his family who is here from all over the world.

Matthew has got to be one of the greatest husbands ever and I am so thrilled that he will be home tonight!!! I joke with him, that "after all these years," isn't is great to know we still love AND like each other?! That we are so beyond excited to see one another after a long separation like 7 weeks and 2 days. He just smiles and says, "after all these years, huh?" Yeah, we've only been married about 4 and 1/2 years.

Well, to all of you, I hope you have as great of a day as we are about to! Hug your dog, cat, kid, husband, dad, mom, baby, wife; whom ever is important in your life! Have a good one!
